Virginia Wesleyan Winter Indoor

Written on . Posted in .

Marlin Lacrosse Camps & 757 Select Lacrosse (www.757selectlacrosse.com) have joined forces again for the 2015-2016 winter box lacrosse clinic. Each Saturday NCAA coaches & players will conduct instructional sessions for each age group. The off-season is the best time to improve your game for the spring, & our indoor league will help you improve your skills with both instruction & playing time!

We are the only local indoor league providing players with the chance to play on indoor goals with indoor balls – this is a huge advantage in stick skill development. Indoor lacrosse is one of the best ways to improve a players skills – our coaches will pass along the same drills & skills we use in our off-season training at Virginia Wesleyan! Teams are assigned according to age & position.

About the Winter Indoor Box Lacrosse Clinic

This box lacrosse clinic will focus on box lacrosse skills & techniques for our campers. If you want to keep a stick in your hand, get lots of touches on the ball, & develop your skills this winter then this is the clinic for you.

Each age group has a 90 minute session each Saturday. Players receive instruction, fundamental skill teaching, box lacrosse techniques, & game play! Boys receive instruction on stick work fundamentals and will learn box lacrosse techniques. Each player gets plenty of touches on the ball. Players are split into teams & get lots of time to play while receiving instruction during the games. The boys learn lacrosse, have the chance to practice their techniques, & most importantly will have FUN playing box lacrosse!

Why Box Lacrosse?

Box Lacrosse is a proven way to improve player skills. Stick skills are the main emphasis at the Box Lacrosse Clinic. Our clinic provides players the chance to get many touches on the ball & to keep a stick in their hands during the winter. This helps develop skills for the spring season. Box lacrosse is played in a smaller space than field lacrosse. Players are forced to handle the ball in tighter spaces, shoot the ball on smaller goals, and find ways to use space to their advantage. This is a method that helps create better lacrosse skills & abilities. We hope you’ll join us this winter!
